Hello! My name is Hannah True-Romero (she/her), and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Oregon. I see individuals (ages 14+) for both in-person and virtual sessions.

Are you a good clinical fit?

Do you struggle with harsh internal criticism? Do you struggle to trust yourself or have difficulty expressing what you feel, want, or need?

It would be an honor to come alongside you in your journey. I seek to provide a safe, compassionate, and therapeutic presence. I find great meaning in empowering clients toward greater self-compassion and transforming the internal critic as well as helping clients advocate for self in relationship with others. I aim to help equip clients with confidence that their emotions and experiences have something to offer if only we will listen. There is a certain wisdom there.

My Approach

With a client-centered, mindful, and emotion-focused approach to therapy, I will support you as you process your feelings in the moment. I believe that creating new emotional experiences both in and outside of therapy, is a major way that people transform, heal, and develop a more fulfilling relationship with self and with others. I also recognize that many of us have been impacted by systems where we have been marginalized or treated inequitably. I seek to create a space that honors your lived experience and work together to address the impact of marginalization.

I have worked as a mental health therapist since May 2017 in a community outpatient setting and have found my work with individuals and groups to be quite meaningful and fulfilling. My experience includes working with individuals of all ages, supporting clients in working through challenges with ADHD, anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress, issues associated with inequity and marginalization, grief, and more. I have also worked with groups of adults in developing mindfulness and self-compassion (e.g., Adult ADHD mindfulness groups, and process oriented- Self-Compassion groups). I also have experience providing couples or relationship therapy.

I look forward to working with you!
