Noah Lavetter-Keidan, CSWA

Clinical Social Work Associate

  • I received my Master’s of Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis with specialties in clinical mental health and sexual health and education. My past experience as a therapist has been with those wanting to build healthy relationships and after sexual trauma, current and former sex workers, and those who have experienced sexual abuse. I am also an AASECT certified sexuality educator and have given workshops on topics including desire discrepancy, kink, and asexuality. I plan to begin working towards certification as a sex therapist as the next step in my career.

Hello, my name is Noah Lavetter-Keidan (they/them) and I am a Clinical Social Work Associate (CSWA) in the state of Oregon. I see clients aged 18-65 for in-person and virtual sessions. As a therapist my goal is to help you find ways of moving through the world that feel liberatory. Often our experiences of marginalization and trauma can lead us to lose touch with our desires. This might look like having sex more or less than you want to, or repeating patterns that lead to disconnection in your relationships. Together we can work to strengthen the mind-body connection, feel our emotions, and experience our wise-mind–a place that is not ruled by just logic or just emotion, but where the two come together to reveal what feels most authentic to us.

Are you a good clinical fit?

I prioritize fostering a personal connection with my clients, and humor is welcome in the therapy space. I tend to be hands-on as a therapist. I will bring in activities that help you explore your goals and ask questions to make sure I understand you. These activities might ask you to consider your thoughts in new ways like drawing, visualizations, or inner child work. I work well with clients who consider themselves over-thinkers and may understand their current patterns but still want help in breaking out of them.

My Approach

Our sessions may involve slowing down and focusing on the body, compassionately noticing different thought patterns, or getting to know our parts and what they have to offer. Two modalities I pull most from are Internal Family Systems (also known as Parts Work) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. These modalities both aim to help us recognize and accept our feelings, as well as foster a mind-body connection. Past clients have said that I offer a good balance between challenging them and offering compassion.

I look forward to working with you!

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Interested in working together? Submit a prospective patient form and provide a brief description of why you are seeking services with Noah. Our admin team will reach out to schedule a 50-60 minute intake and send our new client paperwork. The initial assessment is where we will discuss your current concerns, goals for therapy, and address if we are a good fit.

If we are a good fit, we will schedule 45-60 minute follow up therapy sessions with the frequency and duration being specific to your goals for therapy.

  • Regular sessions are 55 minutes and occur weekly or bi-weekly. I have a person-centered approach and think of the client as the one leading the way and the therapist as the one guiding the beam of the flashlight. I do provide homework between sessions that might include noticing when certain thought patterns come up and making note of them, or checking in with your emotions and parts during the week.
