Tonia Weber, CSWA

Clinical Social Work Associate

  • I received my undergraduate degree in Sociology at Portland State University in 2014 with a focus on social work and human services. In 2024, I obtained my master's degree in social work from Chamberlain University with a focus on mindfulness interventions. After receiving my undergraduate degree, I spent six years working with children and adolescents struggling with behavior issues. During that time, I gained extensive experience in crisis management, skills training, de-escalation techniques, the impacts of childhood trauma, and the importance of strength-based interventions. The last 8+ years, I have worked in primary care as a care manager. In that role, I strived to address social and emotional needs that were impacting overall health and happiness. I provided individual and family counseling to address emotional challenges such as life stressors, illness, and grief. I am a Clinical Social Work Associate (CSWA) with the Oregon Board of Licensed Social Workers (BLSW). I have completed extensive trainings in suicide prevention and safety planning, perinatal mood disorders, and mental health first aid. In 2023, I completed training to become a certified QPR (question, persuade, refer) instructor and provided training in suicide prevention to over 100 staff members.

  • Individual Therapy

Hello! My name is Tonia Weber (she/her), and I am a Clinical Social Work Associate (CSWA) in the state of Oregon. I see individuals 18 and older for both in-person at Northwest Primary Care Oregon City and virtual sessions. I have been practicing social work for the last 15 years and working in healthcare for the last 8+ years. I have a special interest in working with folks struggling with their own medical issues and/or providing care for a loved one. Generally, I will support people with anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation/safety planning, compassion fatigue, grief, life transitions, boundary setting, and relational issues.

Are you a good clinical fit?

I like exploring various kinds of approaches based on what you need as an individual. I will ask a lot of questions to get to know and understand you. I will also happily accept feedback and boundaries when things are not working for you. I see mindfulness, self-compassion, exercise, boundary setting, nutrition, and sleep hygiene as significant factors in overall wellness (amongst other things). I love learning and will always be learning about new ways to support my community. If I do not specialize in something that you are interested in, I will learn more about it and/or I will help refer you to someone better suited to your needs. I am here to help you and support your uniqueness. Our sessions will look different based on what you need at that time. I like to end a session with a summary of what we discussed and things to work on outside of the session. I like beginning a session with a quick reflection of what we talked about previously and follow-up on any “homework” or activities to better understand what is working/not working for you. I know that trusting a new person (or any person) with some of the most difficult aspects of one’s life is not easy and I thank you in advance for allowing me to walk alongside you.

My Approach

I believe in creating a non-judgmental space where authenticity and transparency are prioritized. I use a strength-based approach that focuses on individual uniqueness and collaboration. I see the therapeutic relationship as a partnership, and my role is to support and guide in ways that promote improved health and well-being. I am a huge advocate for working on self compassion. With an education in social work, I tend to utilize a biopsychosocial approach to look at the interactions between biological, psychological, and social factors to gain a holistic understanding of individual needs, which allows for more effective goal setting and improved self-awareness. I use aspects of motivational interviewing, psychoeducation, collaborative problem solving, cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused treatment, and mindfulness. I am always working on increasing my knowledge and experience in ways that will further my ability to support my community. Thank you for taking the time to read about me.

I look forward to working with you!
